Hummer H2 Sees The Light At the End of the Tunnel

Hummer H2 Sees The Light At the End of the Tunnel

The Godzilla of trucks, the Hummer H2, has its days numbered as GM plans to give the vehicle one last refresh in 2010. In 2011 the 8500 pound Hummer will be subject to new fuel standards and is expected to run its course until 2014 . Currently the vehicle is exempt from typical fuel economy standards due to its tremendous weight. Hummer H2 owners have reported that the vehicle gets an average of 10 MPG while GM has never released an official rating. Hummer enthusiasts will have to rely on smaller models to get their fix “monster truck” fix in the future. With the price of oil continuing to rise and stricter federal fuel economy regulations this beast may have had its days numbered long before this announcement.
