Indiana H2 Plant Halts Production, Lays off 200 – Beginning of the End?

As America’s economy continues to dive like a US Airways flight into the Hudson, Hummer and GM have announced the halting of production at the Mishawaka, Indiana AM General Plant where the H2 is produced.

AM General announced the production stop today, stating they will be in a holding pattern until “at least March.” The company is also laying off 200 employees from the civilian line of H2. Some workers have been shifted to the wing which produced the military Hummers. AM General spokesperson Craig Mac Nab said “Nobody knows what’s going to happen with the H2 plant.” – Let’s keep our fingers crossed that H2, and some (if not all) of those jobs will return to Indiana.
